Mistress at the Movies Splice

I am not sure this is exactly a horror flick but I thought it was when I picked it up, so we will just go with it.

Splice is the story of genetic engineers run amuck. They go against the rules and splice together animal and human DNA. But then they go the extra step of implanting that DNA in an embryo and then bringing that embryo to term. And what do you think happens? It all goes very very wrong. I am sure the Republican Party will be using this as a reference when protesting the use of stem cells in the not too distant future.

This wasn’t too bad of a flick. Definitely not the greatest I have seen but far from the worst. The main problem with this movie was that it was a bit slow. And then once it gets going it jumps quickly to the realm of the extreme. That being said it was still fun to watch and there were some pretty cool shots. The creature that they create is interesting and uniquely creepy. I still hear the weird dolphin call noises she was making. And hey, if you have ever wanted to see Adrian Brody playing a punk influenced genetic biologist, well here you go.

i thought it was a weird ass movie. i dont know what was most disturbing in the sex scene - the sex changing creature, adrian brody naked or the creepy father/daughter vibe.
